Fort Worth BOTOX®Injections
Why choose Kirby Plastic Surgery?
While Botox® is often administered by many different medical professionals, such as nurses, physician assistants and ophthalmologists, plastic surgeons are highly trained to understand and treat the face and all of its layers. Plastic surgeons are trained to provide you with the desired aesthetic outcomes, and to avoid delicate anatomical structures below the surface. Muscles injected by Botox® are able to block nerve impulses that cause wrinkle-causing muscle contractions. It is important that your injection be placed in the correct area, while avoiding risky spots.
Dr. Emily Kirby personally performs all injections with freshly reconstituted Botox®.
One size does not fit all. As a plastic surgeon, Dr. Kirby is trained to develop a treatment plan just for you. Your Botox® plan can vary based on your gender, muscle mass, ethnicity and skin thickness, as well as your individual goals. Dr. Kirby will listen and work with you to achieve the look you want.
What is BOTOX® Cosmetic?
BOTOX® Cosmetic is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to temporarily improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines) in people 18 to 65 years of age. BOTOX® Cosmetic is administered as a simple, nonsurgical treatment that is injected directly into the muscles between the brows. It works by blocking nerve impulses to the injected muscles. This reduces muscle activity that causes moderate to severe lines to form between the brows. Individual results may vary.
Is BOTOX® Right for Me?
Skin care should start before signs of damage are evident. In Texas we are exposed to the sun year round. Attention to your skin now can prevent years of aging later. A good routine of exfoliation, sunscreen and regular Botox can keep you looking young beyond your years. Even if wrinkles have set in, BOTOX® can improve your appearance and prevent the development of more.
How does BOTOX® Cosmetic work?
How can I avoid bruising from BOTOX®?
- Stop taking aspirin, vitamin E, fish oil and NSAIDs at least 14 days before getting BOTOX®
- Avoid alcohol 2-3 days before your appointment
- Exercise early so you are cooled off by the time of your appointment
- No bending, straining, heavy lifting or exercise immediately after treatment
- Use ice packs before and after your treatment
- Don’t massage injection sites
When will I see results from a BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment?
Within days, you may see a marked improvement in the moderate-to-severe frown lines between your brows. Lines that were treated continue to improve for up to 30 days. Individual results may vary.
How long does BOTOX® Cosmetic last?
Will I still be able to make facial expressions?
Although the results are visible, a treatment with BOTOX®Cosmetic (onabotulinumtoxinA) will not radically change your facial appearance or make you look as if you’ve “had work done.” The muscle activity that causes frown lines between the brows is temporarily reduced, so you can still frown or look surprised without the wrinkles and creases between your brows.
How much will my treatment cost?
All treatment plans are unique, but you can use this guide to approximate your costs:
- First, add the total number units you will need. For example, to treat forehead lines, you will need 6-15 units.
- Second, multiply the number of units by the cost per unit. For example, 6 units x $10 per unit = $60.
Call us at 817-292-4200 or use our contact form to find out the current cost per unit.
Your individual plan will be based on a number of factors including your goals and physical anatomy. Dr. Kirby will work with you to determine the best course of treatment.
